The boot is the mandatory minimum stake each player puts into the pot before cards are dealt. It sets the opening pot size and determines the minimum call amount for the first round of betting.

Chaal is the act of placing a bet to stay in the hand. A seen player pays double the current stake; a blind player pays the current stake amount to continue to the next card reveal.

A trail — also called a set or trio — is three cards of the same rank. It is the highest-ranking hand in standard Teen Patti Night, beating a pure sequence, sequence, colour, pair, and high card.
